Zillow and Redfin settle FTC antitrust case over their rental listings partnership
Zillow and Redfin have reached a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission that resolves allegations that a 2025 partnership violated antitrust rules. The FTC claimed Zillow agreed to pay Redfin to syndicate Zillow’s rental listings, while Redfin would terminate its own advertising contracts and agree not to compete for multifamily listings. The settlement ends the case and imposes no further obligations on either company. Both firms will continue to operate independently and maintain their business practices. The agreement was announced on March 15, 2024. The settlement does not affect listings or user access to rental data for all users today.
